Fred & June's is the culmination of a lifelong dream held by its two founders, Morgan and Stephen Hayes. The store was created with the idea in mind that everybody deserves a place to feel comfortable with the characters in their lives, both real and imagined.

Fred & June's is the culmination of a lifelong dream held by its two founders, Morgan and Stephen Hayes. The store was created with the idea in mind that everybody deserves a place to feel comfortable with the characters in their lives, both real and imagined.
Fred & June's Books carries both new and used books in a wide variety of genres catering to a general audience (that includes kids, of course). Titles in stock range from new releases to time-tested classics (we also accept customer requests if the title you want isn't in stock).
The goal of Fred & June's Books is to provide a home for the literary spirit in all of us, a space to make memories and connections through a shared love of stories and community.

So far, the question we get asked the most is “Why Fred & June’s Books?” After all, my name isn’t Fred (it’s Stephen) and my wife’s name isn’t June (it’s Morgan). But the explanation is a simple one, and it essentially boils down to two things - memory and connection .

So far, the question we get asked the most is “Why Fred & June’s Books?” After all, my name isn’t Fred (it’s Stephen) and my wife’s name isn’t June (it’s Morgan). But the explanation is a simple one, and it essentially boils down to two things - memory and connection .
My dad, Fred, was always one of my absolute biggest supporters in EVERYTHING I ever did. He entertained my every whim (You want to be a drummer? That’s awesome, let’s go pick out a kit! A writer? Come on, I’ll try and help you sell your reviews to the local newspaper!). And when he passed away – for a while there I lost the wind in my sails. But over time, that wind returned, and I could hear his words of encouragement in my head, could remember the way his voice would resonate in such a way that you could just tell he believed in every piece of what he was saying. And those memories would push me forward to now, to the realization of this dream.
So, why not just Fred’s Books? Because we are more than just the words that we say, we are the relationships that we build. June was my father’s sister and, in fact, the only one to really be allowed to call him Fred (he was Guy to basically everybody else) and, in truth, my Aunt June had a way of saying his name that NOBODY would ever be able to match, anyway. They had a closeness that almost any siblings would envy. My dad would tell me stories about how loving she was, how fiercely protective she could be, and I recognized a bond both strong and lasting. Theirs was a connection that I can only hope to hold with the people in my life.
And this is what Fred & June’s Books represents - a place to create the lasting memories (of words, of dreams) and deep connections (with family, with friends) that make us who we are.
So, what’s in a name? The answer, of course, is everything.

Our Policy Breakdown:
- Fred & June's Books accepts books for TRADE CREDIT ONLY
- Credit goes on your store account and can then be used to take 50% off USED books or 20% off NEW books (remaining balance will be paid via card or cash)
- We DO NOT process trade-ins on MONDAYS
Our Process Breakdown:
- You can drop off up to TWO 12x12 boxes of books per

- Fred & June's Books accepts books for TRADE CREDIT ONLY
- Credit goes on your store account and can then be used to take 50% off USED books or 20% off NEW books (remaining balance will be paid via card or cash)

Our Process Breakdown:
- You can drop off up to TWO 12x12 boxes of books per trade-in
- F&J will typically take 24-48 hours to process your order (process times may vary)
- Books will be reviewed, and accepted or rejected, based on a variety of criteria (age, condition, level of demand, inventory levels, etc.)
- You will receive a text or email when your order has been processed (which will include the trade credit amount offered)
- Any books F&J does not take will be returned to you, donated to one of our nonprofit partners (with your permission), or placed on our FREE sidewalk table (with your permission)
- Once you have been notified that your order has been processed, you have 24 hours to respond or trade credit will automatically be issued and returns will be donated
